Motivation
I love the word motivation; I think it is a powerful thing
especially when you need that bit of a push. I love to be around people that motivate and even
challenge me to do better. At this moment my biggest motivation are
other entertainment entrepreneurs that are in the beginning stages of their
career. I want to be able to snap my figures and be where I want to be right
now. But I also want to be able to look back and say I worked hard to get what
I wanted. I am not the type of person that likes getting things handed to me. I
didn’t grow up that way. I rely on videos like the one below and people that motivate
me to work harder. The video I have post really hit home, have you ever got so
motivation you get goose bumps? That is what this video did for me. Enjoy!!

My Acting Career: To Act Or Not To Act
I told you guys about how I use to model, act, dance, and sing right? Well I want to actually go deeper into my acting career or what was my acting career at least. I done a little digging around and I found a little bit more information on what I did when I was acting.
How I got started acting
I was modeling and after I my horrible breakup with my talent agency I decided to find work on my own. Which started out hard because I didn’t know where to find modeling jobs or even who to ask. Thanks to the good old Internet I sat myself down and surfed it like I have never surfed it ever before. I found myself engulfed in a title wave of information and was completely overwhelmed. I found so much information and where to post my portfolio and forums so on and so forth. So I started posting my portfolio on different free website such as Modelmayhem and Musecube and many others. Then I started get invites to submit to online magazine websites suck as Hot Blocks Magazine and online radio station websites. With all the invites, business proposals, and being featured I really started to get over whelmed with everything that was thrown my way. So I kind of stuck with one website that I like the most which was model mayhem. I ended up meeting a photographer Merika Rock; she worked with many different names such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner to Celebrity Fit Club’s Harvey Waldon and American Idol’s Kimberly Locke. She is the main person that got me deep into the entertainment industry. She’s the one that made me stop and think about being a minority business owner. Now I am getting of topic, which is for another post.
I got into acting through model mayhem when I got a job offer that was looking for models for a web show. At first I was hesitant because I have never acted before and I didn’t know anything about it, The only thing I could remember thinking was, OMG I don't know if I could remember lines; my head was overly thinking this. Well, with me the more confused and scared and overwhelmed I get I have to try it. So I messaged them back saying Ill doing as I’m freaking out. The people that messaged me were called DynaHunk and they said Ill be on their web shows with my own little season. It was a very low budge but great if you’re a beginner like I was. The show was called Dare Doll Dilemma, which I thought was cool because I could be a superhero! Go me!! I ended up doing one episode (just the trailer) and found out that I was pregnant, bummer I know!! Honestly it is fine with me because it was hard to work with the lady, but you can’t win everything, and maybe it was just me since I didn’t have previous experience. It was fun but just for that one time. Then I got other invites to auditions and I went.
I remember this one time I went to an audition...remember I never had experience before except for the dare dolls thing, which there was no audition for that. Anyway, I was really scared because the people where obviously more professional and had a higher budget to work with. So I decided to take a friend of mine with me. Drove 3 hours to Chicago and I couldn’t find a parking spot. I’m freaking out because it was close to the time I had to be there, I even left an hour earlier expecting traffic. I ended up being late, which I hate. I walk in and all eyes are on me. I hate looking very unprofessional and not being in control of whats going on, its just not me! Well I forgot my headshot in the car so I had my friend run out and get it as they called my name. They call me back and as I was walking down the hall to the audition room I see something that said have your monologue ready. A WHAT? Didn’t know what that was so of course I didn’t have one! Now your probably wondering, didn’t you look at your breakdown? Yes I did, I was just oblivious to the word monologue when I read through it. So I sat down, cameras in my face, lights in my eyes, and I answer the questions they ask and they asked me, if I got the part would I be able to make it to the set. I said yeah and my heart started racing because I was expecting them to tell me to do my monologue. They didn’t and it was the end of that. Handed them my headshot not expecting anything, and I was right, nothing! I learned so much between those two acting experiences as well as reading and talking to other actors on what to expect, that if I could do it all over again, I still wouldn’t. It’s not for me to be on that side of the industry. I was made to be on the other side, made to prevent that from happening to other talented people. So that is how I got into acting and that is how fast I ended my acting career!

My Three Main Goals
I recently did a video about My Entertainment Business: The Journey, and I mentioned three main goals that I wanted done by the end of this year (2015). I sat down and I really thought about what I want to happen and where I wanted to be by the end of this year, when it comes to my dreams. I wanted to use the SMART goal approach to make sure everything is done right, effectively and accurately.
For those who might not know what SMART goals are, it is
(Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Timely). I want to make sure I
understand exactly what is expected and I don't deviate from my main goals out
of confusion. I want to make sure I can
actually do them and they are something that is realistic and not something
that would awesome to do but not possible. I also want to set time limits for
them, that way I will know that they are getting done, when they need to get
done. I love marking things of lists. I am going to make my list on paper with
sublist to help me out.
Okay! My three main personal goals are:
Learn and understand as much as I can about the
Entertainment Business.
Start my Business
Be the best talent company out there for my talent
(geez)! ok that one may seem a little
much considering everyone wants to be the best of the best. What I really meant
was I want to be the best in my talents eyes as well as my eyes.
Let me remind you that these are my personal goals. Not my
business goals but just goals that I have for myself personally to get to my
business goals. Let's break each of these goals down and let me explain them
better.
The first goal, learn and understand the entertainment
business, is something that is going to be an on going process. That process is
going to be on going until well after I start my business. I want to make sure
I have at least the basic knowledge of the industry and that is why I am going
to Full Sail University to get my feet wet and build my business portfolio as
well as to learn what I need to learn.
Another way I will get to understand and learn about this industry is to
go out and do interviews with mainly talent but as well as talent buyers,
whether they are video interviews or not. The best way to learn is to
physically go out and do it. I want to know what musicians, dancers,
actor/actresses, and models are wanting, thinking and what needs to be done
about some of their concerns, and how I can dive into the root of their
problems and make it easier for them to pursue their career. Like I said
before, " My mission is to minimize bad experiences and threats and
maximize profit."
The second goal is to start the business. I read this
article call, Why You Really Should Just Launch Your Business Already. Click
Here For the article, but what I really held on to after I read it, was the
author saying, "Your business is never going to be perfect in your
eyes," and "You Won’t Know What Problems Need to Be Fixed Until it’s
Out in the World."-By Megan Broussard, 2013. I think what Megan said is
true. I could probably spend years trying to make everything perfect, just the
way I want and it still wont be the exact way I want it to be, which is
perfect. Another thought is how can I try to make it perfect if I don't get out
there and put it to the test. I wouldn't know what is working and what need to
be fix or flat out eliminated.
The third and final goal is to find what is wrong and fix
it, which in my eyes is being the best company out there. I want to try new things that other companies
haven't tried. I have many ideas that I have not seen implemented that should
seriously need to be or at least tried. After 5 years of research I finally
figured out how I can apply them to my business. Trust me it wasn't easy but I
mastered my ideas on paper, the real testament is to master it through my
company. I have written every possible outcome down so I can be prepared for
what could possible not work.
Those are my goals that I will be working towards. In my
other coming post I will be breaking these down in to subgoals and putting time
limits on them to make it easier to overcome. These goals and subgoals a put
into place will lead up to completing my main goals.

Starting An Entertainment Business Company!
I did that for awhile and was not satisfied, I wanted to be on the other side of modeling. I bought a good camera and started taking pictures of models but it wasn't enough. I still needed more so, I switched to acting, did a few web shows and went to a few auditions, I also was in a music video but again I wanted to be on the other side of it. I found one of the photographers that I had worked with and he wanted to start a modeling management company. Long story short I pretty took over and wanted to manage more than just models. I wanted to manage musicians and dancers and actors. I mean how hard can it be? I found out pretty fast but I loved it. Since I was still knew and still learning I bumped down to just promoting them so I can network to build more contacts.
